Festive Night Trail Run | Saturday 17th December 2016

A festive 12.3km/7.6 mile night trail run around Carsington Water (situated between Matlock & Ashbourne) raising money for the CHICKS charity, who provide free week long respite breaks to disadvantaged children from all over the UK at their centre at Fenny Bentley near Ashbourne.

The route is all off-road on hardcore/cinder bridleways and footpaths – the route is ‘gently undulating’ but on the whole it’s perfect for a night run and so long as you keep the reservoir/lake on your left all the time as well as follow our yellow and blue signage you can’t go wrong!

After the run hot drinks including mulled wine (non-alcoholic) plus snacks will be available.

  • A 12.3 km/7.6 mile lap of Carsington Water – gold, silver & bronze time awards/certificates.
  • Staggered group start windows every 10 minutes.
  • All event proceeds will be donated to the CHICKS charity.
  • SPORTident electronic punching with on-the-spot results.

chicks-logoAt this event all your entry fee will go to CHICKS which is a local charity offering free respite breaks to disadvantaged children – Matt Nickson from CHICKS’ Daleside Retreat near Ashbourne comments:

“CHICKS is a national children’s charity providing free respite breaks to disadvantaged children from all over the UK.

We believe every child has the right to make positive childhood memories. A CHICKS break inspires new confidence and gives children the chance to have fun, enjoy new experiences and relax. More than anything, it gives them the chance to just be children.”

CHICKS began in 1992, and has since provided over 13,000 children with a much needed break.

Matt continues: “the work that we do at CHICKS is great, but without the help of people like Adrian, who has put this event on to raise much needed funds we would be without the opportunity to give so many young people hope and a chance to make memories that they will cherish for a lifetime. Thank you Dark & White and I hope to see you all on the 17th December at Carsington Water.”
